Snoopy's official birthday : October 2, 1950. Snoopy, whose fictional birthday has been established as October 2, made his first appearance on the strip October 4, 1950, two days after the strip premiered. He was first identified by name on November 10. Schulz was originally going to call him "Sniffy" (as described in 25th anniversary book), until he discovered that name was used in a different comic strip. He changed it to "Snoopy" after remembering that his late mother Dena Schulz had commented that if their family were ever to acquire a third dog, it should be called Snoopy, an affectionate term in Norwegian. When he grew up, he walked like a boy and he became a lovely white dog. A Little History about Snoopy: Snoopy was actually owned by a little girl first and then her family moved into an apartment that didn't allow pets, so she had to take him back to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. A story between Snoopy and Charlie Brown: Snoopy and his family was born in Daisy Hill. Then they were all waiting for someone to take them home. Charlie Brown like Snoopy very much and he took the dog home. Unfortunately, Charlie's parents did not want to take care of a dog. Then Charlie left home with Snoopy.
